Parents announce Giannios-Barker engagement

The parents of Nichole Giannios of Fairview Park, and Dan Barker of Cleveland, are announcing their engagement and wedding plans.

The bride-elect is a daughter of Lisa Ballas of Summerville, N.C., and Gus Giannios of Poland. Miss Giannios graduated from John Carroll University in University Heights with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. She earned her doctor of osteopathy degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, and is a Fellow in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland.

Her fianc , a son of Molly Letcher of Hubbard, and Dan Barker of Cortland, is a Kent State University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in business and management information systems. He works for Progressive Insurance in Cleveland with contracts and acquisitions, and is pursuing a master’s degree in business management at Cleveland State University.

Invitations will be extended for the wedding the couple have planned for 5:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at Edward W. Powers Auditorium in Youngstown and for their reception in the auditorium’s Grand Ballroom.
