A woman running for a seat in the Ohio House could become the state’s first openly gay legislator.
Nickie Antonio is a Democrat running in a solidly Democratic district in suburban Cleveland.
The 54-year-old Antonio is the third openly gay person to run for a House seat in Ohio but the first with a significant chance at winning.
Antonio says she knows her victory would be historic but wants the focus to be on what she does.
