Wife convicted in stabbing death

CHARDON

An Ohio woman faces a maximum sentence of life in prison for stabbing her husband to death with a kitchen knife during a fight in their home.

A jury on Friday convicted Sandra Franklin, 58, of murder and other charges in the August death of Dr. Peter Franklin. Authorities say he was stabbed in the chest.

Defense attorneys argued that Sandra Franklin stabbed her 73-year-old husband in self-defense because he had attacked her. She called 911 from their home near Chardon to report the stabbing.
