Teams sought for bed races

CORTLAND
Teams are being sought for the Cortland Street Fair Bed Races to take place at 6 p.m. June 25 in front of the fire station on Lattin Street.
Teams must include five people age 16 or older. Each team should make a bed that can be pushed and have a sponsor.
Participants should meet in the parking lot of the phone company on Lattin Street by 5:30 p.m.
There is no fee to enter. A first-place trophy and monetary prizes will be awarded.
Teams are encouraged to participate in the Grand Parade on June 26 and to decorate their beds in the parade theme “Wild, Wild West.”
Individuals and groups also are invited to enter a unit in the parade. Prizes will be awarded for floats, antique or classic cars, domestic animals, baton corps and drill teams. All units with animals must provide a decorated clean-up unit.
