Pageant winner is crowned during ball at cathedral

Lauren Lotze was crowned “Miss Polonia Ohio 2010” during a pageant that took place May 1 during the Polonia Ball in the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Parma. She will represent the Polish American Congress, Ohio Division, at events throughout the year.
In addition to the title, the young woman received more than $500 in cash and prizes and will have the opportunity to compete for the national “2010 Miss Polonia USA” during a national pageant Oct. 23 in New York City. National finalists will have the opportunity to travel to Poland and represent the United States in a worldwide competition.
A resident of North Lima, the 22-year-old Lotze is a senior at LaRoche College in Pittsburgh, where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in interior design. She is an alumna of the Krakowiaki Polish Folk Circle, a member of the Polish Arts Club of Youngstown, a Polish Day ‘09 volunteer, and has studied the Polish language at Ohio State University.
