The McDonald Midget Football Association will meet at 7 p.m. Sunday in the senior citizens room at the post office building.

The McDonald Literary Guild will meet at 8 p.m. Thursday at Woodland Park United Methodist Church.
The McDonald Parents of Performing Arts will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the senior citizens room at the post office building.
Mahoning-Shenango Valley Historical Club will meet briefly at 9 a.m. May 15 at Tod Cemetery before a tour of the cemetery from 10 a.m. to noon. Anyone interested in local history is invited to join; membership applications will be available. Mahoning Valley Civil War Round Table will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Antone’s Banquet Center in Boardman. Dr. Ethan Rafuse of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College will present “‘We Always Understood Each Other So Well:’ Lee, McClellan, and the War in the East.” Dinner and the program are $13 per person, and reservations are required. Western Reserve Knitting Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fair Park in Canfield.
Youngstown Area Weavers Guild will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Weaving Willow, 1888 Brookfield Road, Hubbard, for a continuation of the president’s challenge. Liz Andraso will demonstrate a unique way to review and learn about trapestry. A mini loom will be used to weave part of the tapestry. Officers will be elected. Guests are welcome. RELIGIOUS GROUPS
Junior Seton Circle will meet at noon Thursday at A La Cart in Canfield for a luncheon followed by installation of new officers. The new slate includes Mary Swartz, president; Elaine Hovanec, vice president; Mary Ann Pillin, secretary; and Maryann Kane, treasurer. Members of the social committee serving as hostesses will be Ruth Eich, Maryann Kane, Judy Rehak, Caroline Berg, Marion McDermott and Joan McKeown.
Mercer County Christian Coalition will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hermitage Senior Center on Buhl Farm Drive in Hermitage, Pa. Discussed with be ways of getting voters to the polls; a straw vote may be taken. Newt Gingrich’s DVD “We Got the Power,” will be viewed. Plans will be made for a July 3 tea party on the lawn of Mercer County Courthouse. The theme will be “You Can Make a Difference.” The public is welcome at all the events.
The Mount Carmel Society of St. Rose Church will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the lower church.
St. Anthony Auxiliary of Struthers will have its Mother’s Day banquet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Holiday Inn in Boardman. Reservations must be made by today. On the committee are Eleanor Steich, Lora Opsitnak, Rita Varacalli and Teresa Colista. Gianna Aromando will provide entertainment, and Arlene DeChellis, president, will update plans for St. Anthony’s Day to take place June 13.
