Poland ends streak for Canfield tennis

Despite their best efforts, Poland defeated Canfield 4-1 Monday night in Poland. In singles matches, Ryan Sankovic lost to Ben Brocker in two sets 6-1 and 6-3. Tony El-Hayek fell short against Ken Duncan with scores of 6-4 in each set.Captain Mark Dalvin played two sets to win his match 6-1 and 6-2 over David Shoffstall. In doubles play, Steve Dalvin and Joe Crum lost their match against Mike Devito and Zach Fortunato in two sets with scores of 6-2 and 6-3. Mark Pagano and Tom Yankush could not pull out the win against Doug Poganec and Ryan Calcagni. They lost the match in three sets 4-6, 6-0 and 6-3.

Canfield tennis team beats Howland

The Canfield High School boys tennis team defeated Howland 4-1 at home Apr. 30.

In singles matches, Ryan Sankovic played three sets to win 3-6, 6-0 and 7-5 over Matt Madgar. Tony El-Hayek defeated John Morello in two sets 6-2 and 6-0. Mark Dalvin easily beat Dan Kuszmaulin in two sets 6-0 and 6-1.

In doubles matches, Faisal Mangalis and Robert Ames won their match against Joe Crum and Steve Dalvin in three sets 3-6, 6-4 and 6-4. Mark Pagano and Tom Yankush won their match in two sets 6-2 and 7-5 over C.J. Bart and Logan Sturgeon.

Canfield wins all matches against Niles

The Canfield boys tennis team went 5-0 Apr. 29 in Niles.

In singles match play, Ryan Sankovich defeated J.J. Crowley 6-2 and 6-1, Tom Yankush finished 6-1 and 6-0 against Tyler Chaney and Mark Stanislaw won 6-1 and 6-0 against Derek Konscol.

In doubles, Steve Dalvin and Joe Crum won their match in 6-0 and 6-1 sets against Alex Lucas and Brock Poling and Pawn Solanki and Ryan Yankush defeated Cain Dando and Dom Ficeti in two 6-0 sets.
