Sharon Speedway unveils its new Friday night feature
HARTFORD
Sharon Speedway will begin a new feature tonight.
Starting at 7 p.m., Friday Night Thunder will feature Mod Lites, Sportsman (dwarf car), Micros, 2 bbl E-Mods and Hobby Stocks on the 3/8-mile dirt oval.
Friday Night Thunder will also be held on May 21 and June 4. It will continue throughout the season on every other Friday if fans support the racing.
Tickets for Friday Night Thunder are $10 for adults, $5 for teens and children 8 and under are free. Fans who present a ticket from Friday night at the next day’s 6 PAK Saturday racing will receive $3 off general admission and $5 off a pit pass. Parking and camping at Sharon Speedway are free.
Sharon Speedway will also host 6 PAK Saturday this weekend on May 8 and it’s Lawrence County School night. Students who attend school in Lawrence County who present their report card will be admitted free.
Sharon Speedway will also host a Mother’s Day Celebration on Sunday.
Tickets for the Saturday 6 PAK series are $13 for adults ages 14 and older, $5 for teens from ages 9 to 13 and kids 8 and under are free. This season, Sharon Speedway is offering a Family Pass for $32, which includes admission for two adults and up to four children under 13. Pit passes are $25.
Tickets and passes are available at the speedway ticket windows, by calling (330) 772-5481 or by visiting sharonspeedway.com. Gates open at 4 p.m. with racing at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Parking and camping is free.

One of Mercer Raceway Park’s most popular promotions is the $10 Family Night.
The program kicks off Saturday with $10 Single Parent Night. As many kids 15 and under will be admitted with an adult for $10.
On June 12 and July 24, mom, dad, and as many kids will be admitted for $10. That represents a savings of $15 off the Family Pass.
Saturday’s program features the Sprint Cars, Modifieds, FASTRAK Late Models, Stock Cars, and Mini Stocks. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. and racing begins at 7.
