Ice Zone hosts adult men’s hockey league

The Ice Zone’s Spring Men’s League is under way and six teams are vying for ice hockey bragging rights every Monday night starting at 7 p.m.

Week one results included Giant Eagle over Lannigan’s Irish Pub 7-5, Lanai Lounge defeating Wade Robinson 7-3 and Gold team and Nicolinni’s tying at four.

Apr. 19 final scores were Wade’s team over the Gold team 6-3, Giant Eagle defeating Lanai Lounge 12-1 and Nicolinni’s outscoring Lannigan’s Irish Pub 3-2.

On Apr. 26, Giant Eagle went to 3-0 on the season after dominating Wade’s team 15-1. The Gold team defeated Lannigan’s Irish Pub 11-4 and Lanai Lounge got its second win beating Nicolinni’s 3-2.

The spring league is made up of men ages 20-60, with 70 to 80 percent of the players from the area. The teams will play for seven weeks. In July, a summer league will be offered by the Ice Zone and a winter league is set to begin in September.
