Austintown business opens office in Elyria

During the slumping economy, many businesses have been downsizing. But at Leppo Equipment, growth has been the operative word.

The equipment company, with a local office on Meridian Road in Austintown, is spreading its wings further west. Leppo has opened a new location in west Cleveland, with a new office in Elyria. That pushes the company’s stable of northeastern Ohio stores to six.

The other locations are in Akron, Canton. Cleveland and Wooster, in addition to Austintown. The company has been employing Ohio residents since 1945.

Leppo Equipment Inc. is owned and operated by the third generation of the Leppo family. Glenn Leppo is president and directs daily operations. Dale Leppo acts as chairman and focuses his time on day-to-day operations in Tallmadge.

Leppo Rents the complete line of Bobcat equipment, JLG telescoping rough-terrain forklifts that will carry up to 10,000 pounds, dozers, scissors lifts, compaction equipment, air compressors, hand tools and specialized concrete equipment.

The company is a Bobcat dealer and focuses on the sale and product support of Bobcat loaders, excavators, track loaders, compact tractors and attachments.
