Police: Grenade simulator prompts Pa. bomb scare
PITTSBURGH (AP) — A Pittsburgh man is in custody after a bomb scare prompted by what authorities are calling a military-style grenade simulator.
Ohio Township police Chief Norbert Micklos says a bomb squad responded to a traffic stop and secured the device on Wednesday afternoon.
Micklos says the device was explosive and should not have been in the possession of 33-year-old Johnny Lee Harvard.
Micklos says the traffic stop was prompted by a woman reporting two suspicious men in her yard.
Harvard is facing charges including possession of explosives and risking a catastrophe. He remains in custody.
The other man was not arrested.
