Parents reveal date for Mike, Simko wedding

Joseph and Lynn Mike and Joseph and Karen Simko, all of Poland, are announcing the engagement of their children, Monica Nicole Mike and Joseph Nicholas Simko, also of Poland, and plans for the couple’s wedding.

The open ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. July 3 at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown. Invitations will be issued for an evening reception at Mr. Anthony’s in Boardman.

Miss Mike received her bachelor’s degree in respiratory care from the University of Toledo and is pursuing a master’s in higher education and administration from Northeastern University. She is a registered respiratory therapist with Akron Children’s Hospital, Boardman Campus, and is a limited-service faculty member in the respiratory care program at Youngstown State University.

The prospective groom graduated magna cum laude from the Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in communications. He earned his special-education credentials from Notre Dame College and is an intervention specialist for the Mahoning County Educational Service Center and the head ninth-grade football coach for Poland Seminary High School.
