A federal judge has found a former Ohio doctor competent to stand trial on charges of possessing dozens of pipe bombs in his apartment.

Mark Campano, 56, of Cuyahoga Falls, was injured when two explosions rocked his Northeast Ohio apartment in November. He’s charged with having about 37 unregistered pipe bombs.

Campano has pleaded innocent. A trial is set for June 9 before U.S. District Judge Donald Nugent in Cleveland.

Medical-board records show the former anesthesiologist who has practiced in Ohio and West Virginia has a history of substance abuse dating to 1987. His Ohio medical license was revoked in 2006.
