Jackson to replace Yoho as Republican Jury Commissioner

NEW CASTLE, Pa.

Lawrence County President Judge Dominick Motto has appointed longtime New Beaver Borough Council member Helen Jackson as the county’s new Republican Jury Commissioner to replace A. Wayne Yoho who resigned.

Jackson, of 367 Jackson Lane, New Galilee, will serve through the end of 2011 when a special election will be for someone to fill the final two years of Yoho’s term. Lawrence County Commissioner Steve Craig, who announced the appointment at Tuesday’s commission meeting, said Jackson’s appointment will be effective once she resigns her council post.

He said Jackson has served for many years on the Lawrence County Planning Commission and is a past member of the Lawrence County Council of Governments.

Yoho of New Castle served as jury commissioner for 16 years and was elected in November to his ninth term. He resigned effective the end of April.
