Jackson-Milton’s Snowden wins 200th game

Senior pitcher Lindsey Knipp struck out 12 and walked two in pitching her first no-hitter of the season, giving head coach Kelly Snowden her 200th career win. Knipp added three hits and three RBIs for the Bluejays (14-8). Paije Kiraly had two hits, including a double, and Caitlyn Carney added two hits, including a homer. This is Snowden’s 13th year. Sebring is 3-16, 1-11.

Canton

Stephanie Berdis had a double and a home run and drove in four to lead Fitch. Alana Callahan had three hits including a double, while Haley Martinelli had two hits with a double. Carly Ortz also doubled for the Falcons (11-8, 4-5). Brittany Newsome had three hits for the Eagles.

Poland 9, Richmond Edison 0

POLAND

One night after clinching the conference crown, Poland seniors Nicole White and Jessica D’Apolito each had two hits to lead the Bulldogs (21-1) on Senior Night. White scored two runs, while Adriana Sikora had two hits and Jenna Modic tossed a three-hitter with nine strikeouts and a walk.

Erika Nites had five hits, three RBIs and scored four runs to lead Howland (9-12, 2-5 AAC Red), while Amanda Delaquila had three doubles and drove in four, Tori McCormick had three hits and two RBIs and Gina Albani had three hits and scored three. Beaver Local is 7-18.

Lindsey Dodgson had a double and four RBIs, while Ashley Ganyard doubled to lead Niles. Sammy Melius had three hits for the Red Dragons, while Megan McDermott, Samantha Ramer, and Olivia Devorich each had two hits. Aubrey Hale drove in two RBIs. For Mathews, Julie Wise had two hits.

Alyssa Nicholas and Lexi George each had three hits and three RBIs for Lakeview (10-11). Kim Lane added two hits and also got the mound win, striking out four and walking one.

Elyssa Simko, Caitlin Smith and Chelsea Hibler each had two hits for Mineral Ridge (5-13). Smith, who came in relief in the fourth, got the win for Ridge. Crestview falls to 1-22.

Madison Yanek had a home run to lead South Range to an undefeated season in the ITCL. Carley DeRose, Laura Biroschak and Gab Naples each drove in two runs for South Range (24-1, 14-0), while Kristin Robinson tripled for the Raiders. Courtney Hydrick doubled for United.

Springfield 5, east Palestine 4

East Palestine

Nicole Siciliano’s seventh inning RBI single gave Springfield the lead and the win. Siciliano had two hits and drove in two, while Ashley Davis had a double and a triple for the Tigers (11-13, 8-5). Karly Pence had two hits for East Palestine (15-4, 8-3).

McDonald 11, Southern 1

McDONALD

Kaitlin Rutushin (12-5) got the mound win and had three hits, including two doubles, to lead McDonald (12-5, 10-3 ITCL Tier Two). Leigh Gatta, Alyssa Hutzler, Emily Magill and Ashley Alexander each added two hits. Southern is 7-18, 2-12.

Southeast 4, crestwood 3 (8 innings)

Mantua

Staci Stewart had a double and a triple to lead Southeast in an eight inning dual against Crestwood. Kayla Carson had a triple, while Tori Sigworth had two hits for the Pirates (15-3, 7-3). Emily Gahagan (3-0) got the win for Southeast.

Poland 1, Canfield 0

CANFIELD

Jenna Modic’s home run in the second inning was the only run on Monday. Erin Gabriel (14-0) struck out 15 for the Bulldogs, who clinched the All-American Conference Red Tier with a 7-0 mark. Nicole White hit a double for Poland. Laura Beck’s double was one of two hits for Canfield (13-10, 6-2).

Mooney 20, Canton Central Catholic 8

CANTON

Jamie Clausen had three hits, including two doubles, and seven RBIs to lead Mooney (20-3). Christina Hrehor, Shayla DeCapita and Vickie Farris all had three hits for the Cardinals, who rallied from a 5-1 deficit to win 20 games for the fourth time in seven years. Hrehor, Farris and Marissa Gorvet all hit doubles, while Chrissy Porter had three RBIs.
