It’s not a matter of equality
It’s not a matter of equality
The April 22 letter, “Equality for all is urged,” is the non-Christian viewpoint of the subject of sexuality. The scriptures says that God made them man and female and that homosexuality and all other sexual activity outside of marriage is sin and disobedience to the word of God.
Both the Old Testament and the New Testament condemn homosexuality, as well as all other sins including lying, cheating, stealing, drunkenness, adultery, fornication and a myriad of others.
We are not to hate homosexuals or deny them any rights that heterosexuals have and we are not to favor them or any other group in any way. Anyone who commits a crime against a homosexual should be punished to the fullest of the law.
However, in the church of our Lord Jesus Christ we have a right to ask the members to obey the commands of the word of God. We are not to judge those outside but those who claim that they are believers.
I have met many converted former homosexuals and lesbians in my ministry in New York City. They turned away from this lifestyle and were married and had children and never turned back to their former way of life. The apostle Paul said that’s what some of us once were but that they were cleansed and regenerated by the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ.
We welcome all homosexuals, as well as all other sinners as we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
I worked under a lesbian boss and with a homosexual co-worker for many years and they treated me with respect and I didn’t judge them, but tried to be a light to those I worked with so they too would trust in Jesus and be a new creation. They may struggle with their past sins, but God will give them the strength to overcome and live a victorious life for Him.
The Promise Keepers want all men to be good husbands, fathers, workers and most of all holy lovers of Jesus and all those that they meet in life. Exodus Ministries helps former homosexuals and lesbians with their unique problems and struggles after receiving Jesus as their Savior. You can’t deprogram or pray away any sin, including homosexuality, you need to trust Jesus, confess your sin and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit who will help you overcome all temptation and sin as you grow in grace and knowledge.
