The gymnasium at Canfield High School, 100 Cardinal Drive, will be the setting for the 2009-10 Canfield Schools Student Art Show. The two-day event will be open to the public from 6 to 9 p.m. May 26 and 27.

The “Celebrating the Arts” event will showcase works of students in grades K-12 at the school in all media. More than 1,000 pieces of art will be displayed. Featured will be art, graphic design, engineering graphics, wood technologies and family and consumer science.

The entries will be judged by local university professors and artists on May 21. There will be a variety of prizes awarded including trophies and best-of-show awards.

During viewing hours there will be live music and light refreshments. Following the show the art works of the Canfield students will be displayed at Old North Church.

In conjunction with the art show there will be a high school-choir concert May 27.
