Boardman

Rob Boyd’s two-out, two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh ignited an amazing rally for the Boardman High baseball team, which defeated Canton McKinley 11-10 in a Federal League game on Tuesday.

Trailing 10-3 entering the seventh, Boyd’s homer made it 10-5 and the Spartans (7-12, 2-7) added five more hits, including doubles by Anthony Hennessy and Tyler Blangero.

Dustin Corso had an RBI single to tie the game, and after a Dan Popio walk, Sam Porter hit a double in the gap to drive in the game-winning RBI. Porter had three hits and drove in two, while Corso had two hits and two RBIs.

McKinley drops to 8-9, 2-7 in the Federal League.

Lakeview 26, Badger 0

KINSMAN

Kevin Arnold went 3 for 3 with a double and drove in seven, while A.J. Hrusozski went 4 for 4 with four RBIs to lead Lakeview.

Justin Misterka had three hits and drove in four, while Anthony Franco and Darren Hamilton each had three hits for the Bulldogs (7-15).

Badger fell to 4-14.

Mike Kunzer’s three-run triple in the first inning was enough for Struthers.

Roman Salinas (5-1) pitched a complete game, striking out eight and walking one for the Wildcats (11-9, 5-3).

Salem’s Randy Wyand had two hits including a double, while Dan Gagnon went 3 for 3. Nick Lesky (4-2) got the loss for the Quakers (7-14, 3-5).

Brad Ferraro went 3 for 4 with a double to lead Springfield.

Nick Russell had two hits including a triple while driving in four RBIs, while Cody Pitzo had three hits with a double for the Tigers (19-6, 11-2).

Jeff Davidson homered and drove in two RBIs to lead Columbiana.

Davidson (4-0) also got the win, striking out five and allowing just two baserunners. Tyler Denmeade doubled and drove in two RBIs, while Andrew Burdick had two hits for the Clippers (14-9, 9-3).

Josh Cook and Cody Helman each doubled for Lisbon (3-16, 2-8).

Lowellville 8, Wellsville 2

Tony Schialdone struck out nine, tossing a three-hitter to lead Lowellville (12-10, 9-5 ITCL Tier Two). Anthony Alfano, Jared Hrusovsky and Ray Carlson added two hits. The Tigers are 5-7 in the league.

Western Reserve 9, leetonia 1

John Gora pitched a complete game, striking out 15 and giving up just six hits to lead Western Reserve.

John Rosati went 2 for 4, scoring three times and driving in two, while Chris Kalbfell had two hits and Eric Deal doubled for the Blue Devils (15-8, 9-5).

For Leetonia, Nick Altomare and Ian Sevenich each had two hits.

Crestwood 12, Southeast 2

Jordan Fedor had two triples to lead Crestwood.

Fedor (4-2) was also the starting pitcher and got the win. David Czerny added a triple, and David Brock had three hits for the Red Devils (15-3, 8-2).

Kyle White doubled for Southeast (3-16, 0-10).

CAN. SOUTH 8, WEST BRANCH 3

CANTON

Jared May homered twice, driving in six runs, and Brandon Parsons pitched a complete game for South (10-12, 5-6 Northeastern Buckeye Conference).

Bo Beegle and Matt Unkefer had three hits apiece for the Warriors (13-8, 6-5), including one double apiece.

Campbell 14, Yo. Christian 11

Alex Lopez had three hits and two RBIs for the Red Devils on Monday at Cene Park.

For Youngstown Christian (2-12), Anthony Abeid struck out 13 batters in relieving starter Brad Bailey in the second inning. Abeid’s three hits included a triple and double. Brian Richey also had three hits.
