Mass. governor orders review of water system

CHELSEA, Mass. (AP) — Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick has ordered a review of the Boston area’s water system after a pipe that broke over the weekend prompted a boil water order for about 2 million people.

Patrick has promised a full investigation into the break and says construction of a backup system will be accelerated. He spoke today just hours after the boil order was lifted.

Patrick says that “if there is fault to be found, we will find it and we hold those responsible accountable.”

Patrick says health officials have conducted more than 800 water quality tests in the past two days.
