Mahoning County absentee vote results

YOUNGSTOWN — Absentee vote results have the Mahoning County half-percent sales tax winning with 71.3 percent in favor. Overall, there were 7,340 absentee ballots cast, considerably down from recent years.

Other absentee votes show:

• Youngstown Councilwoman Carol Rimedio-Righetti beating incumbent David Ludt in the Democratic Party county commissioner primary. She had 55.2 percent of the vote.

• U.S. Reps. Tim Ryan and Charlie Wilson have comfortable leads over their Democratic challengers.

• Incumbent county Auditor Michael Sciortino has more than a 2-1 lead in the primary race for his seat.

• Austintown school bond issue lost among absteenee voters, 527-504.
