ELECTION UPDATE: Austintown OKs school levy

AUSTINTOWN — The 2.9-mill Austintown schools bond issue was approved with about 55 percent of the votes.

With 41 of 42 precincts reporting, 4,657 people voted for the issue that will raise $27 million for two new elementary schools, and 3,662 voted against it.
