Police are looking for suspects in two home invasions and a carjacking in various locations across the city.
A 22-year-old Upland Avenue woman told police she was sleeping in an upstairs bedroom while a family member was sleeping on a downstairs sofa at 1:22 a.m. Friday when the front door to the home was kicked in. Two men armed with guns entered.
The thieves made off with a computer, cell phone and television.
Police also are looking for two men who forced their way into a Warren Avenue home at 4 a.m. Thursday behind a 39-year-old resident returning home. Both men were armed with handguns.
According to police reports, the woman opened the door to enter her home and was pushed into the house from behind by the armed men. A third man is believed to have been in a waiting car.
The men forced the woman, along with another woman who had been baby-sitting, into a bathroom and told them to stay there or the thieves would kill the children sleeping upstairs. The thieves stole a large television, two cell phones and $500 in cash.
A 43-year-old East Midlothian Boulevard man was carjacked Thursday evening on the South Side.
The man told police he was driving a black 1966 Oldsmobile on Ellenwood Avenue when two men with a gun stole his car at a stop sign.
The victim walked to a nearby McDonald’s restaurant and called police.
