Boeing’s selection would benefit Ohio
St. Louis
Ohio will benefit from about 690 jobs if the Boeing New Generation Tanker is selected as the U.S. Air Force’s next aerial refueling aircraft, Boeing Defense and Space Security announced this week.
The defense manufacturer, a subsidiary of Boeing Company, estimated that, if selected, the NewGen Tanker would generate around $33 million in annual economic impact in the state.
Ohio manufacturers that would produce components of the tanker include Allen Aircraft Products in Ravenna, Achilles Aerospace Products in Twinsburg and Voss Industries in Cleveland. The NewGen tankers would replace an aging fleet of tanker aircraft.
Boeing’s tanker is competing against an EADS aircraft in the bidding process.
National Fuel in Pa. decreases charges
erie, pa.
The Pennsylvania division of National Fuel has announced a decrease to gas-supply charges, effective today. The quarterly adjustment will lower the monthly bill of residential customers in northwestern Pennsylvania, the company said in a release Friday.
Typical customers using 95,000 cubic feet annually will see monthly bills decrease by 6.4 percent, National Fuel said. The decrease is the result of the declining market price of natural gas.
