Piano-violin duo to play at arts event

The Munoz-Ilusorio duo will perform at the Jewish Community Center’s J Cafe at 6:30 p.m. April 22.

Dubbed A Taste of the Arts, the evening will include wine and hors d’eouvres. Tickets are $10 ($15 after April 19). Call (330) 746-3250 for reservations.

The Jewish Community Center is at 505 Gypsy Lane.

The duo consists of Juan-Luis Munoz, an acclaimed violinist from Chile, and Mariel Ilusorio, a pianist from the Philippines. They play Jewish and Yiddish music, along with Gershwin and South African music. The duo formed in 2005 in South Africa.

The duo’s visit to Youngstown is supported by the New Music Society, the Dana School of Music, and the Youngstown State University College of Fine and Performing Arts.
