Ohio Marine dies in Africa

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio

The Department of Defense has announced that a U.S. Marine from Ohio has died in a “nonhostile incident” in Africa.

The government said Tuesday that 20-year-old Lance Cpl. Randy Heck of Steubenville died Sunday in Djibouti, Africa.

Heck graduated from Harrison Central High School in Cadiz. Family members svay he is survived by a daughter, a few weeks old.

The defense department says the incident is under investigation.
