Youngstown cops looking for man who robbed South Side store


YOUNGSTOWN — Police are looking for the man who robbed a South Side convenience store.

According to police, a man walked into the Red and White Supermarket at 2126 Market St. at 9:15 p.m. Monday wearing a green Army jacket with black pants and a scarf over his face. The man was armed with a small handgun.

The store clerk told police the man demanded money bags from behind the counter.

When the clerk attempted to open the cash register, the man told him no and again demanded money bags from behind the counter.

The thief was given money bags containing an undetermined amount of checks and cash. He made the clerk lie on the floor then ran out of the store.
