Two women charged with assault of city man

YOUNGSTOWN — A domestic dispute ended in the arrest of a hammer-wielding city woman and one of her friends.

Shanique McGee, 21, of Buckeye Court, and Lashonda Shakoor, 20, of Dogwood Drive, are due to be arraigned Wednesday in the courtroom of Judge Robert Douglas of Youngstown Municipal Court on charges of felonious assault. The women are in Mahoning County jail.

According to police, officers found the 22-year-old father of McGee’s child outside his North Side home bleeding from the head with other scratches above his eye just before 9 p.m. Monday. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center for treatment.
