Today: The Hartford native started 42nd and finished 42nd in the Goody’s Fast Pain Relief 500 at Martinsville, Va. He completed just 24 laps before heading to the garage.

Season: Blaney improved to 41st place in the NASCAR season standings, with 235 points. He’s 16 points behind Joe Nemechek in the standings.

Next: NASCAR’s top series takes Easter weekend off before going to Phoenix for the Subway Fresh Fit 600. That’s a Saturday night race on April 10, with the green flag scheduled to drop shortly after 7:30 p.m.
