Historic Trumbull County covered bridge reopens Wednesday

NEWTON FALLS — The historic Newton Falls Covered Bridge will reopen Wednesday on time and within budget, Trumbull County Engineer David DeChristofaro says.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. April 8.

BECDIR Construction of Berlin Center was awarded a $21,070 contract in December to repair beams and trusses damaged by a deliveryman whose vehicle was too tall for the bridge. He damaged the bridge during an accident in July 2009.
