Top Rank Boxing is offering discounted tickets for fans who ride on a bus trip to Atlantic City for Kelly Pavlik’s April 17 fight.

Pavlik’s promotion company will discount tickets of all denominations 15 percent and waive the service charge if you ride on the bus trip sponsored by East Side Civics. The bus trip costs $225 for single occupancy, which includes a two-night hotel stay, transportation and a T-shirt. Double occupancy is $275 (or $137.50 per person), while triple is $340 and quad $405.

The Presidents’ Athletic Conference recognized two Westminster College athletes with weekly awards.

Senior track and field athlete Abbey Basta was named PAC women’s track athlete of the week, while freshman golfer Jessica Kinnick (Canfield) was named PAC women’s golfer of the week.

Kinnick finished in 15th place overall and was the top Westminster finisher after firing a 94-92 186 at the 36-hole Mount Union Invitational in Alliance on Saturday and Sunday.

She helped lead the Titans to a seventh-place team finish (418-413, 831) at the nine-team event.

In his six seasons there, the Clippers posted 101-32 record with three league titles and three district championships.

Federer beats Serra at Key Biscayne tennis

KEY BISCAYNE, Fla.

An unusually inconsistent Roger Federer beat Florent Serra 7-6 (2), 7-6 (3) on Monday in the third round of the Sony Ericsson Open.

The top-ranked Federer lost serve three times, each time when he led. He committed 35 unforced errors to 32 for Serra.

But Federer won eight consecutive service points in the tiebreakers and closed out the victory with a service winner.

“All in all, I’m thrilled to be through,” he said. “At the end of the day, that’s what counts.”

Bolt to run 100 at Paris Diamond League meet

PARIS

World-record holder Usain Bolt will race Jamaican teammate Asafa Powell in the 100 meters at the Diamond League meet in France on July 16.

Race organizer Laurent Boquillet says Bolt’s presence at the Stade de France “should electrify the rest of the race.”

Bolt will also run the 100 on June 12 at the New York leg of the inaugural Diamond League, which is replacing the former Golden League.
