Student art show to open at YSU

The annual Student Juried Exhibition opens Friday and runs through April 16 at the McDonough Museum of Art. A reception and awards ceremony for Youngstown State University student artists will begin at 6 p.m. Friday.
This year’s show features approximately 70 works from 40 YSU students. Mediums include painting, photography, sculpture, video, graphic design and printmaking.
Joel Peck, an artist, gallery owner, and art instructor from Chicago, was the juror.

Gallery seeks artist to create edgy work
WARREN
Trumbull Art Gallery is seeking an artist to create an edgy and imaginative installation in the alley behind its building.
The alley is a unique space, secured by gates and walls. Plans call for keeping the art installation on display for months or years. This work can be interactive.
TAG’s goal is to let the space inspire the art. Those interested can call TAG at (330) 395-4876.
Music at Noon continues at Butler
YOUNGSTOWN
Music at Noon performances will continue in April at the Butler Institute of American Art.
The free concerts are Wednesdays at 12:15 p.m. After April, the Dana School of Music series will go on hiatus until fall.
April’s schedule: saxophone recital, April 7; tuba/euphonium ensemble, April 14; New Music, April 21; brass chamber music, April 28.
