5 inducted into hall of fame
AUSTINTOWN
The Home Builders/ Remodelers Association of the Mahoning Valley recently inducted several members into its hall of fame. They are:
Andy Profanchik, owner of APCO Construction. He has been president of the local association and the Ohio Home Builders Association.
Elton Kuszmaul, owner of Kuszmaul Builders. He is a former local president, trustee for the Ohio Home Builders and member of the National Association of Home Builders membership committee.
John Sudon, partner in Sudon Brothers. He was president in 1995 when the local HBA was voted the No. 1 HBA in the U.S. He is a life director in the Ohio Home Builders Association.
Andy McGee, founder of A.M. Door and Supply. He was a member of the HBA board and named an associate life director.
Don Walter, Don Walter Kitchen Design. Walter died in 2006. He served as a board member and was named one of the first associate life directors.
Orthopedic surgeon opens second office
COLUMBIANA
Dr. James Pantelakis will open a second office for his orthopedic surgery practice Friday. The office is located at 107 Royal Birkdale Drive. His primary office will remain in Poland. Appointments for the Columbiana office can be made by calling (330) 482-9350.
Positive seen in watching online

College-basketball watchers are tuning in to games online in record numbers, but many managers see that as a potential positive for the workplace.
Forty-one percent of randomly polled managers said employees watching games and signing up for office pools could boost morale, according to a poll by OfficeTeam, Nearly half said tournament-related activities would have no effect on morale, while only 11 percent said they could hurt sentiment at work.
Only 22 percent of senior managers said the NCAA tournament would hurt productivity, while 22 percent said it would have a positive effect on office output.
South, West slow to file taxes
NEW YORK
Does nice weather keep you from filing taxes? Southern and Western U.S. cities are home to most of those slowest to send in their income taxes online, according to a data from tax-preparation software maker Intuit Inc.
Houston had the most people filing 2008 returns from April 14 to 17 in 2009. The federal tax deadline is April 15. Other Texas slowpoke cities were Austin, No. 4 on the list, and Dallas, No. 9.
California laggards were San Francisco, No. 5; San Diego, No. 7; and Los Angeles, No. 8. Other West Coast procrastinators were Seattle, No. 6, and Las Vegas, the 10th.
The only two cities east of the Mississippi with large numbers of residents filing last-minute tax returns last year were Chicago, which was No. 2, and New York, which came in third.
