March 1

Criminal damaging: A man in his mid- to late 30s cut the plugs off power cords to two appliances at a Boardman-Canfield Road business.

Assault: An Alburn Drive woman alleged her boyfriend pushed her to the floor, then kicked and sprayed a nonlethal chemical irritant in her face. She suffered scratches and swelling.

Domestic violence: Michael F. Headlee, 45, of 4125 Stratford Road, was arrested at his residence and charged after his wife alleged that, during an argument, Headlee threatened to kill and bury her.

Breaking and entering: Someone broke a front window, then entered a doctor’s office in the 800 block of Southwestern Run Place. Nothing appeared to be missing or disturbed, however.

Domestic violence: Neil T. Necastro Jr., 38, of 1998 Mathews Road, Boardman, faced a felony charge when, police said, he admitted to having slapped his pregnant girlfriend several times in the face and forehead after an argument. An officer noticed swelling and other injuries, a report said.

Menacing: A Cook Avenue woman said her former boyfriend is engaging in a pattern of harassment and making threats.

Fraud: A Daffodil Lane woman reported receiving a check with the name of a fictitious company.

Identity fraud: A Mathews Road woman discovered someone had used her cell-phone number to harass employees of a phone company. Her number was unwittingly the source of derogatory and offensive calls directed at the company, a report showed.

Theft: Denise M. Frazier, 21, of 215 Beachwood Drive, Youngstown, was charged with stealing from Wal-Mart two earring sets.

Theft: Lisa L. Ruz, 40, of 5785 Callaway Circle, Youngstown, was charged and released on a summons. She was accused of stealing $75 worth of jewelry from Macy’s.

Fraud: A Jaronte Drive woman discovered a $375 check mailed to her had been stolen and forged.

March 5

Drug instruments: Police responded to a possible domestic situation and charged 29-year-old Angela L. Irizarry, 23 Lakeshore Drive, Boardman, with possession of drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia when, they said, a bag contained spoons with burn marks, syringes and a possible crack cocaine pipe.

Identity theft: A Shields Road man noticed unauthorized charges had been added to his phone bill.

Auto theft: A 2008 Dodge Avenger was stolen in the 6000 block of Applecrest Court.

Drug paraphernalia: Authorities responded to a possible drug overdose and charged Miquel S. Angel, 42, of 850 Mathews Road, Boardman, with possession of drug paraphernalia. A glass pipe was found, a report said.

Criminal damaging: A car had its driver’s-side window damaged at the Southern Park Mall.

Theft: A resident of a Boardman-Canfield Road care facility reported $250 stolen from a lockbox in his room.

Theft: Trevor T. Baulo, 23, of 650 Blueberry Hill Drive, Canfield, was charged in the theft of two articles of men’s clothing from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.

March 6

Auto theft: A Struthers woman reported her 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier stolen while in the 300 block of McClurg Road.

Breaking and entering: Someone entered a vacant home in the 400 block of Annawan Lane through the front door, then removed $500 worth of copper pipes.

Arrest: A traffic stop on Doral Drive resulted in the arrest of 25-year-old Benjamin R. Volosin, 1986 Wolosyn Circle, Boardman. He was wanted on a probation-violation count.

Drugs: Officers pulled over a vehicle near Midlothian Boulevard and charged Dion D. Witherspoon, 21, of 320 Hilton Ave., Youngstown, with obstructing official business and drug paraphernalia, as well as 23-year-old Chante S. Perry, 881 E. Philadelphia Ave., Youngstown, with possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia. Witherspoon deliberately gave a family member’s name, and pills in an unmarked bottle were found, a report showed.

March 7

Arrest: Police responded to a disturbance in the 7400 block of Market Street, where they took 38-year-old Joseph J. Catullo Jr., 52 Indianola Road, Boardman, into custody. Catullo was wanted on a probation-violation charge, but was not charged in the disturbance.

Theft: A vehicle’s front license plate was removed in the 300 block of West Midlothian Boulevard.

Harassment: An Applecrest Court girl said her former boyfriend has been sending a series of harassing text messages.

Fraud: A Pembrooke Place woman discovered someone opened a Facebook account in her teenage son’s name without consent.

March 8

Criminal damaging: Two car windows were broken in the 4200 block of Market Street, with a total damage estimate of $400.

Criminal damaging: An irate patient tossed a $700 flat-screen computer monitor while at a Boardman-Canfield Road doctor’s office.

Attempted fraud: A Maple Drive woman told police someone had called trying to obtain her son’s identification.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle’s front turn-signal lens sustained damage in the 7400 block of Market Street.

Theft: Two Wampum, Pa., girls, 16 and 17, were charged with stealing $187 worth of clothing from Macy’s.

Burglary: Took place in the 4500 block of New England Boulevard after someone had entered via the front door and ransacked several rooms.

Theft: Shanae E. Perry, 18, of 881 E. Philadelphia Ave., Youngstown, and 23-year-old Chante S. Perry, same address, were charged with deliberately failing to scan four DVDs at Wal-Mart. Both were released on summonses.

Drug paraphernalia: Officers cited 19-year-old Joshua Burke, 177 Shadyside Drive, Boardman, as they investigated a suspicious vehicle.

Arrest: Michael D. Schapter, 28, of 84 Melrose Ave., Boardman, was arrested on a probation-violation charge after having been pulled over for a traffic stop.

Theft: Dennis P. Sheehan, 25, of 2104 Russell Ave., Youngstown, was charged in the theft of tools and other items from Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road.

March 9

Theft: Marquesha J. Shine, 20, of 538 Ferndale Ave., Youngstown, was charged, accused of stealing 11 clothing items from Wal-Mart.

Theft: A 14-year-old girl, no information listed, and a Canfield girl, 15, were charged after cosmetics and miscellaneous items were stolen from Macy’s.

Theft: Police booked Rhonda E. Hill, 32, of 240 E. Chalmers Ave., Youngstown. Hill was accused of taking $116 worth of jewelry from Wal-Mart.

Theft: A worker for a Market Street restaurant discovered deposits were missing or short by more than $9,000 over a two- or three-month period.

March 10

Drugs: After stopping a car near Southern Boulevard, authorities charged 21-year-old Emanuel N. Catsoules, 7708 Cliffview Drive, Poland, and a Campbell boy, 17, with various drug-related offenses after saying six Xanex tablets, a suspected marijuana pipe and a small bag of suspected marijuana were found.

March 12

Arrest: Martest S. O’Malley, 18, of 291 Reed St., Campbell, faced felony counts of receiving stolen property and forgery after being accused of trying to cash an $80 personal check with a forged signature and from another account at a Youngstown-Poland Road bank.

Theft: Both registration plates were removed from a car in the 6300 block of South Avenue.

Theft: Police took custody of 20-year-old Jennifer A. Robin, 1592 Fountain Square Drive, Austintown, and Daniel Dixon Jr., 25, same address. Robin and Dixon faced one and two counts of theft, respectively, when, authorities said, they were among three people who failed to pay a $102 bar tab at TGI Fridays, 7165 Tiffany Blvd.

Theft: A woman in her 20s stole two sweepers from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road, costing the store $1,200.

March 13

Theft: Trudy A. Douglas, 47, of 172 Benton Road, Salem, was charged in the theft of two shirts from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.

Menacing: An employee with a Boardman-Canfield Road gas station said a former worker threatened to harm him.

Arrest: While responding to an altercation at the Southern Park Mall, authorities charged a 14-year-old Youngstown girl with criminal trespassing when, they said, she refused several times to leave.

Burglary: To a Huntington Drive apartment, from which a $100 MP3 player was taken.

Theft: An automated-teller-machine card and a driver’s license were stolen from a vehicle in the 40 block of Arlene Avenue.

Arrest: A traffic stop near Carter Circle led to the arrest of 21-year-old Derrell L. Easterly, 48 N. Evanston Ave., Youngstown. Easterly was wanted by Liberty Township authorities on a probation-violation charge.

Arrest: Officers charged 30-year-old Terrell L. Engles, 966 Plazaview Court, Youngstown, with obstructing official business and criminal trespassing. Engles became belligerent with Southern Park Mall security personnel who asked him to remove a hood that violated the mall’s dress policy, then refused to identify himself for police, a report said.

Theft: John S. Probst IV, 26, of 33 Clifton Drive, Boardman, was charged with theft and possession of criminal tools after being accused of using a pocket knife to cut open a box containing batteries at Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive.

Theft: Kevin D. Pasco, 40, of 297 E. Clark St., East Palestine, was charged in the theft of an eight-pack of razor-blade cartridges from Wal-Mart.

Theft: Anthony Seidita, 44, of 116 S. Dehoff Drive, Austintown, was accused of leaving Giant Eagle, 1201 Doral Drive, without paying for $70 worth of soda.

Arrest: Officers responded to a report of a pickup truck stuck in a yard on Brandon Avenue, where they charged 52-year-old Miriam Rios, 838 E. Midlothian Blvd., Youngstown, with walking on a road where sidewalk is provided, a first-degree misdemeanor.

March 14

Theft: Several candy bars and a roll of duct tape were stolen from Wal-Mart, resulting in a charge against 32-year-old Jedediah M. Thomas, 6767 Applewood Blvd., Boardman.

Theft: A global positioning system unit, a cell phone and a cooler were among items stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of Canterbury Lane.

Theft: Twelve compact discs were taken from a car in the 800 block of Glen Park Road.

Criminal damaging: Several tires on two vehicles were flattened or slashed in the 700 block of Golfview Drive.

Arrest: Police responded to a fight, then stopped a vehicle in the 5200 block of Market Street, where they took 25-year-old Lonnie M. Harris, 1488 Rosewood Lane, Youngstown, into custody on a probation-violation charge.

Theft: A laptop computer and bag, an in-dash CD player and textbooks were removed from a vehicle in the 100 block of Terrace Drive.

Aggravated menacing: A Ferncliff Avenue man told police someone threatened to kill him.

Burglary: To a garage in the 6900 block of Pinetree Drive. Stolen from a vehicle was the face plate to a car stereo.

Felonious assault: A Hopkins Road woman was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center’s Boardman Campus for injuries she sustained during an assault.

Fraud: A Mill Creek Boulevard man’s stolen debit card was used to make several fraudulent purchases at the Southern Park Mall.

March 15

Domestic violence: A charge was pending against a township girl, 14, after her father reported the teen pushed him twice in the chest, grabbed his shirt and lightly struck his chin during an argument about the girl’s smoking in her bedroom.

Theft: Two blankets were removed from a patio in the 800 block of Glen Park Road.

Fraud: A Warren woman’s stolen debit card was used to make a $330 purchase at the Southern Park Mall.

Burglary: A rear door was pushed in at a residence in the 5200 block of Pinetree Lane. Stolen from a garage were several tools and other items.

Theft: Three Youngstown girls, 15, 16 and 17, were charged with stealing $190 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart.

Theft: Police booked 46-year-old Paul A. Spagnola Jr., 4688 New Road, Austintown. Spagnola was accused of stealing three packs of strip steak from Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road, given a criminal-trespassing warning and released on a summons.
