Cardinals hoops celebrates 2010-09 season

The Canfield High School men’s basketball team celebrated the end of the 2010-09 season with a banquet Mar. 19.
Players from the Cardinals varsity and junior varsity teams and their families gathered for a final team dinner and awards ceremony at Mr. Anthony’s.
Coaches John Cullen and Bob Tinkey honored four players with awards.
Senior Mike Podolsky was named the team’s Most Valuable Player. Senior Justen Vrabel was given the Best Rebounder award, and senior Gene Wollet earned Best Defender accolades.
The Most Improved Player award went to senior Joe Hoelzel.
Podolsky, Vrabel and Wollet were all selected to the first team all-league for the All-American Conference.
The Canfield High cheerleading squad was also on hand at the event to celebrate the season and thank the senior cheerleaders for their commitment.
