Shepherd of the Valley will have its monthly card game from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 31 at its Poland location, 301 W. Western Reserve Road.
All card players are invited to attend. There will be a buffet lunch and a door prize.

Boardman Park hosts Easter events
Have dinner with the Easter Bunny at the Lariccia Family Community Center Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Park Office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Tickets are $6 for Boardman Residents and $7 for non-residents.

St. Charles offers great meal for great cause
St. Charles Home and School Association will host “Sunday Spag-tacular” Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Father Haidet Hall.
The spaghetti dinner includes meatballs or sausages.
All meals will be served with bread and butter, salad, beverage and dessert.
Cost for adults is $7 and cost for children is $4. Children 3 and under eat free. All proceeds benefit St. Charles Home and School Association.
PPP hosts meeting about underage drinking
Prevention Partners Plus, Inc., along with other local organizations including the Coalition for Capable & Healthy Youth, will sponsor a “Parents Who Host Lose the Most” town hall meeting on Monday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Mill Creek Park Experimental Farm, Kenneth F. McMahon Hall, 7574 Columbiana-Canfield Road in Canfield.
Funded by grants from Drug-Free Action Alliance and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the town hall meeting will feature a panel of community leaders discussing important information regarding proposed changes to Ohio’s Social Host Law, Canfield’s new ordinance and what parents need to know about underage drinking.
In addition, refreshments will be provided.

Singers: You could be the next Poland Idol
Singers are needed for the third annual Poland Idol June 26 at noon at Poland Village Hall on Main Street.
Performers will be required to provide their own music, without vocals, karaoke-style recording or instrumental.
A CD player, microphone and amplification equipment will be provided.
Lyrics must not contain foul or degrading material and any contestant under 18 must have permission from his or her parent or guardian.
The registration fee is $20.
Categories include K-4, 5-8, 9-12 and adult.
Performers do not have to live in Poland to be eligible; applicants can reside anywhere.

Craft vendors wanted for Celebrate Poland
Reservations for craft vendors are being accepted for Celebrate Poland’s third annual craft show June 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Poland Village Hall.
All vendors must supply their own display unit, including tables, chairs, shelves and canopies, if desired.
Space assignments are determined by the committee based on a number of factors. Exhibitor’s preferences will be considered. Each exhibitor is to conduct all activities within their contracted space.
The registration fee is $30 and includes a 15x10 space.
Vendors do not have to live in Poland to be eligible; applicants can reside anywhere.

Get baby items at church’s mom to mom sale
Anyone looking for gently used baby and children’s items should attend the Bethel Lutheran Church’s mom to mom sale Apr. 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its 425 Crestview Drive, Boardman location.

East High honors athletes from the past five decades
The East High Golden Bear Hall of Fame committee will host its final awards banquet Apr. 25 at Mr. Anthony’s in Boardman at 6 p.m.

No tickets will be sold at the door.
Football inductees include Alfred Alston (class of 1978), Ricky Bowers (1976), Samuel Congemi (1972), Gerald Dendy (1981), Kenneth Poindexter (1987), Rev. Darryl Spence (1981) and James Stanford, Jr. (1987).
Baseball inductees include Joseph Cannatti (1976), Carson Gainey (1955), Joseph LoCicero (1960) and Arlegus Tate (1982).

The sole track inductee is Bryant Douglas (1992), Alan DePetro (1952) and A.J. Napoli (1960) will receive special awards.
“Green Idol” contest celebrates Earth Day
Compete in the Recycling Division of Mahoning County’s “Green Idol Singing Contest” at the Southern Park Mall Apr. 17.
In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, the Green Team is hosting this contest for first through 12th graders.
Each contestant will sing a song with an environmental theme, either created by them or made famous by someone else.
The contestants will be grouped into three categories divided by their ages.

Marketplace Solutions will host “Equipping Christians in the Marketplace to Make Changes That Will Last” business seminar Apr. 10 beginning at 7:15 a.m. at Youngstown Christian School.
The seminar will cover how to create a thriving workplace ministry, the missing links and how to break through barriers to reach blessing and feature guest speakers Kent Humphreys, founder of Lifestyle Impact, and Chuck Proudfit, founder of At Work on Purpose.

Mill Creek ABWA hosts Chinese auction
The Mill Creek Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will sponsor its annual Chinese auction Apr. 18 with doors opening at 12:30 p.m. and the first drawing at 3 p.m. at the Ursuline Center, 4280 Shields Road.
The cost to attend is $5 and includes a refreshment and a chance at door prizes that include $150 first place, $100 second place and $50 gas card for third place.
There will be a special raffle table for all items over $25, a lottery table, a hat raffle with money on it and a 50/50 drawing.
Extra tickets will be on sale for 25 more chances to win gifts and another chance on the door prizes.
Profits from the event will benefit the Education Fund of the chapter.

ABWA hosts Chinese Auction in Struthers
The Tri-Gold Time Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association is once again having their Chinese Auction Apr. 10 at St. Nicholas Church Social Hall in Struthers.
Admission is $5 and includes a full sheet of raffle tickets and door prize entry.
There will be items for all ages.
Light refreshments will be available.
Proceeds will go toward Tri-Gold Chapters Education Program.
Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and the drawings will be held at 3:30 p.m.
ABWA is a national organization of working women from different walks of life and the purpose of the organization is to form different chapters in all parts of the county to raise money for Scholarship funds for different people in their areas.
The chapter is currently sponsoring three woman with scholarships of $12,000 each.
The Chinese auction is one of the biggest ways the organization raises money for the scholarship funds.
Hartzell golf outing scheduled
The eighth annual Michael Hartzell Charity Golf Outing will be July 25 at Knoll Run Golf Course in Lowellvile with 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. starts.
The cost for the four-person scramble is $75 per golfer or $300 per team and includes 18 holes, cart, lunch or dinner from Outback Steakhouse, beverages and prizes.
First flight will be a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start with lunch afterward. Second flight will begin with a 1 p.m. shotgun start, dinner and prizes afterward.
Interested golfers can get a registration form at Knoll Run Golf Course, or by visitng http://mhartzell-charity.golf.tripod.com/main/index.html.
Registrations received by July 1 will be entered in a drawing for a free round of golf for four, with carts at Knoll Run Golf Course.
Proceeds from the benefit go toward a scholarships fund for children of Mahoning Valley police officers to attend Youngstown State University.
The committee is taking donations to sponsor holes.
A corporate sponsorship costs $500 and includes banner, radio and television acknowledgement. Hole sponsorships cost $100 and includes your businesses or organizations name at one of 18 holes.
Prize an monetary sponsorships will be accepted.
