Ambassadors of Christ plan Good Friday walk

Ambassadors for Christ, an organization of six churches on the East Side of Youngstown since 2000, will gather at noon Good Friday at We Walk by Faith Bible Church, 1636 Himrod Ave., for its ninth annual journey with the cross.

This annual event is a humble walk filled with prayer, song and gratitude with each person having an opportunity to carry the cross. Every few blocks along the way, the group also stops at a street corner, gathering around the cross, for Stations of the Cross prayers and reflections.

All participants are to meet at We Walk by Faith by noon or at St. Stephen of Hungary between 11:30-11:45 a.m. Transportation will be provided from St. Stephen to We Walk by Faith.

The journey will begin at We Walk by Faith Bible Church, following Oak Street toward Youngstown State University, then left onto Wick Avenue into downtown Youngstown, and onto East Federal Street, over the bridge to Wilson Avenue, concluding at St. Stephen of Hungary Catholic Church, 854 Wilson Ave. Transportation will be provided back to the starting point.

Member churches are Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist, Mount Zion Baptist, St. James Church of God in Christ, St. John African Methodist Episcopal, St. Stephen of Hungary and We Walk by Faith.
