Mill Creek Chapter of ABWA names Women of the Year

During a meeting on March 10, the Mill Creek Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association named Jackie Fischio as its 2010-2011 Woman of the Year.

A trophy, crown and ribbon were presented to the honoree, who will represent the chapter in October at the National Convention in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Fischio, who was accompanied by her mother, Joanne Fischio, and friends, has been a member of ABWA since 2002. She has been active on the Christmas committee, Chinese auction, and spring and fall enrollment activities. A native of Youngstown, she graduated from Youngstown State University, has been employed by Mahoning County Department of Job and Family Services for 31 years, and is currently a training supervisor.

In addition to her association with ABWA, Fischio is active in UAW 112, the John F. Kennedy Democratic Women’s Club of Mahoning County, the Federated Democratic Women of Ohio and St. Christine Church. She enjoys reading, crocheting, gardening and selling football programs at YSU games.
