Man gets prison term for kidnapping and robbery

YOUNGSTOWN — A city man will spend at least eight years in prison for his role in the kidnapping and robbery of a woman who was ultimately murdered.

Jason Clark, 28, of Verona Avenue, appeared today before Judge John M. Durkin of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court for sentencing on felony charges of aggravated robbery and kidnapping. He had entered into a plea agreement with prosecutors more than three years ago.

Prosecutors recommended a seven-year sentence on each charge to be served concurrently and three years for using a gun in the crime.
