Valley home sales mixed

Sales of pre-owned homes in the Mahoning Valley were mixed in February.

The Youngstown Columbiana Association of Realtors said Wednesday that sales were down in Mahoning County, up in Columbiana County and flat in Trumbull County.

In Mahoning County, 100 homes were sold last month, down from the 111 that were sold in February 2009. The average sales price rose to $81,693 last month, from $76,469 a year earlier.

In Trumbull County, 96 homes were sold last month, compared with 95 in February 2009. The average sales price fell to $68,454 last month from $70,628 a year earlier.

In Columbiana County, 46 homes were sold last month, up from 35 in February 2009. The average sales price rose to $73,642 last month, compared with $69,080 a year earlier.
