Police: W. Pa. man loses hand in fireworks accident


NEW CASTLE, Pa. (AP) — Police say a western Pennsylvania man has been hospitalized after losing a hand in a fireworks accident.

Police say the man was hurt Wednesday when an explosive went off as he was cleaning his garage in New Castle, about 45 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.

Investigators say the unidentified man was airlifted to a hospital. His condition was not immediately available.
