Ohio House passes bill to ban texting while driving
COLUMBUS — The Ohio House has signed off on legislation that would ban writing or reading electronic text messages while driving.
House Bill 415, sponsored by Democratic Reps. Nancy Garland, from the Columbus area, and Michael DeBose, from Cleveland, passed on a final vote of 85-12 today and now heads to the Ohio Senate for further consideration.
The bill prohibits drivers from writing, sending or reading text messages on electronic communications devices, including wireless telephones, personal digital assistants and computers.
