Boehner, GOP urge Ohio to fight new health-care law
WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. House Minority Leader John Boehner and other Republicans in Ohio’s congressional delegation are urging that Ohio join a lawsuit against the new federal health care law.
In a letter dated Tuesday, the lawmakers tell Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray he should join his counterparts from 13 other states in challenging the constitutionality of the massive health-care overhaul.
Boehner says in a statement that the law will mean higher costs, lost jobs and fewer freedoms. He says Cordray should oppose the measure on behalf of Ohio middle-class families and small businesses.
Cordray has portrayed lawsuits seeking to overturn the law as groundless and wasteful, however.
