City police are investigating several armed robberies that took place in various parts of the city over the weekend.
Police recorded one armed robbery each day from Friday through Sunday. The incidents took place on the West Side and two locations on the South Side.
No arrests have been made in any of the robberies.
According to police, an employee at West Side Lanes on Mahoning Avenue was inside the business just after 8:30 p.m. Friday when two men entered the building wearing black masks and dark clothes.
One man watched the door while the other man pointed a shotgun at the employee and demanded he open the cash register. The two men took about $500 from the register and ran out the door.
Police are investigating the Saturday robbery of a 21-year-old South Side man not far from his home.
Police said the man was getting into his car in the 3000 block of South Avenue just after 8:30 p.m. when he was approached by two men.
One of the men acted as a lookout while the other produced a gun and demanded all of the victim’s possessions. The victim told police the man took his wallet, which contained about $300.
The two men ran off after taking the wallet, but the armed man turned and fired one shot in the general direction of the victim.
Police are also looking for two men who robbed a Chinese-food-delivery driver just after midnight Sunday. According to police reports, the driver was delivering an order to a home in the 400 block of Almyra Avenue when two men approached the car, one producing a gun, and demanded the driver’s cell phone and cash.
The driver told police he handed the men $50 and the cell phone, and they both ran off. The driver went to the police department to report the robbery.
