POLICE CALLS

A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown Township.

CANFIELD

March 12

Disorderly conduct: Two female students, a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old, were arrested on disorderly conduct charges at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road, after fighting in the school cafeteria.

Drug abuse: Police arrested Kristin N. Webb, 27, of 1084 S. Park Drive, Brookfield, on a charge of drug abuse after finding Hydrocone pills, which were cut in half.

March 14

Drug abuse: Darrin W. James, 44, of 2370 Lexington Ave., Salem was arrested on a charge of drug abuse (possession of suspected cocaine) at Fairview Avenue and Fairground Boulevard.

March 15

Drug abuse: Police arrested Panormitis A. Katsourakis, 18, of 670 Robinson Road, Campbell, on a charge of drug abuse after police found Vicodin and Chlorzoxazone pills and 20 grams of suspected marijuana.

Warrant: Police arrested Justin R. Tofte, 24, Streetsboro, on a warrant on a charge of assault and transported him to Deerfield; he was handed over to Streetsboro police.

March 16

Arrest: Police charged Charles S. Vogley, 44, of 15678 Akron-Canfield Road, Berlin Center, with drug abuse, carrying a concealed weapon and drug paraphernalia. Police found suspected marijuana, a device with suspected marijuana residue on the tip, one Lorazepam pill and a Glock model 26 handgun in his possession.

AUSTINTOWN

March 15

Warrant: Police arrested Larry F. Green, 53, of 4113 Westmont Drive, on a warrant accusing him of failure to appear on a charge of endangering children and amended charges.

Warrant: Police arrested Garrison L. Brown, no age listed, 2241 Burbank Ave., Youngstown, on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a traffic charge at Mahoning Avenue and state Route 11.

Breaking and entering: A padlock was cut and scrap may have been taken at Main Steel Polishing, 3805 Henricks Road.

Fraud: Fraudulent charges to a bank account totaling $952.88 were reported at a home in the 1000 block of Westwind Place.

Menacing: A woman is accused of menacing at a home in the 30 block of North Roanoke Avenue.

Vehicle theft: A 1995 GMC Vandura was stolen at the parking lot of an apartment in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

March 16

Burglary: A house was broken into and several items stolen in the 6000 block of Kirk Road.

Warrant: Police arrested Jason L. Beach, 30, of 713 North Ave., Girard, on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Criminal damaging: A flammable liquid and a bottle were thrown through a window of a vehicle at a home in the 1000 block of Maplecrest Drive.

Burglary: An apartment was entered and items were taken in the 60 block of N. Raccoon Road.

Warrant: Police arrested Robert E. Reda, 30, of 55 S. Richview Ave., Youngstown, on a warrant accusing him of failure to appear on a charge of probation violation and traffic charges.

March 17

Theft: A clerk was shortchanged out of $70 at Certified Oil, 825 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Criminal trespassing: Police arrested Mylindsie J. Allison, 19, of 849 Ohio Park, Youngstown, on a charge of criminal trespassing at the TA Travel Center, 5400 Seventy-Six Drive.

Assault: Police arrested Jason A. Aikens, 26, of 758 Winona Drive, Youngstown on charges of assault and disorderly conduct at O’Donold’s, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Police arrested Mark W. Wagner, 27, of 2212 Robbins Ave., Niles, in the theft of four Wii games worth $191.98 from Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave., after stopping the vehicle he was a passenger in on Canfield-Niles Road.

March 18

Burglary: Cash was taken at a home in the 3000 block of New Road after a forced entry was made through the rear door.

Theft: Police arrested Carl N. Wallace, 41, of 538 Idora Ave., Youngstown, for theft of $181.95 of merchandise from Walgreen’s, 5501 Mahoning Ave.

Bad check: A man is a suspect in depositing a check for about $1,900 drawn on a closed account at First National Bank, 5632 Mahoning Ave., and taking $100 cash from the deposited amount.

Breaking and entering: A door handle and a lock were pried open and cash and files were taken at Scotchie and Associates, 25 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Summons: Police issued a summons to Jeffrey Bradley, 49, of 4161 Claridge Drive, Austintown, for a barking dog at his home.

Assault: A female juvenile was assaulted by another female juvenile at the public library, 600 S. Raccoon Road.

Criminal damaging: Damage to the paint on a vehicle by a sharp object was reported in the parking lot in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

March 19

Menacing by stalking: A female is accused of stalking at a home in the 500 block of Boulder Creek Drive.

Warrant: Police arrested Terry Hickey, 47, of 881‚Ñ2 Morris Ave., Girard, on a warrant on a theft charge.

Passing bad checks: A man is accused of passing bad checks at First National Bank, 5632 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Police charged Brian Fetty, 28, of 20 Shelby St., Girard, with theft of two packs of electric toothbrush heads and Dennis Sheehan, 25, of 2104 Russell Ave., Youngstown, with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia at Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Warrant: Police arrested Dian M. McCreary, 41, of 254 S. Main St., on a warrant for failure to appear on a charge of endangering children.

Passing bad checks: A man is a suspect in passing bad checks at First Place Bank, 101 S. Canfield-Niles Road.

Criminal mischief: A vehicle was egged at a home in the 500 block of South Raccoon Road.

Theft: A debit card was stolen at Farmers National Bank, 22 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

March 20

Felonious assault: Police charged Francis J. Giordano, Jr., 29, of 3644 Monaca Ave., with felonious assault at Barry Dyngles, 1601 S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: A 32-inch Sony television was stolen from a home in the 4000 block of Rhode Island Drive.

Criminal damaging: A passenger seat in a vehicle was cut in the carport in the 1000 block of South Raccoon Road.

Theft: A total of $300 was lost in an alleged scam at a home in the 4000 block of New Road.

Burglary: An apartment was broken into in the 1000 block of Paisley Street but nothing was taken.

Theft: Easter lawn decorations were taken and recovered at a home in the 2000 block of First Street.

Theft: Vehicle keys were taken at a home in the 60 block of Rosemont Avenue.

Vandalism and disrupting public service: Police charged John Blazo, 47, of 4163 New Road, with vandalism and disrupting public service at the Meating Place, 4282 New Road.

Drug offense: Police charged Carl Fisher, 29, 304 N. Maryland Ave., Youngstown, with drug possession and drug paraphernalia and arrested David Fisher, 28, same address, on a warrant alleging failure to appear on a charge of playing loud devises and obstructing official business at IGA, 4477 Mahoning Ave.

March 21

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Brittany Brading, 26, of 202 Cassandra Drive, Niles, alleging possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and John Arnold, 24, of 5523 W. Webb Road, on the same charges at the Ice House Inn, 5560 W. Webb.

Breaking and entering: A credit card stolen from Scotchie and Associates, 25 N. Canfield-Niles Road, was used several times.

Burglary: An apartment was entered and a television stolen in the 6000 block of North Four Mile Run Road.

Theft: A vehicle was entered and several items taken at Cracker Barrel restaurant, 5600 Interstate Blvd.

Theft: A car was entered and items stolen with damage to a window at Cracker Barrel.

Telecommunications harassment: A man was harassing a woman by phone at a home in the 4000 block of Patricia Avenue.

Burglary: An apartment was entered and Vicodin was taken at an apartment in Joseph Knight Tower, 107 Westchester Drive.

Domestic violence: Police charged Deanna K. Robertshaw, 34, of 1561 Medford Ave., Youngstown, with domestic violence and of endangering children at a home in the 500 block of South Raccoon Road.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Candace Bussey, 35, of 725 May St., Kent, alleging possession of drug paraphernalia and administration of a dangerous drug after her arrest at Mahoning Avenue and Viall Road.

Theft: A car was entered and items were stolen at the Cracker Barrel.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle window was broken out at Cracker Barrel.

Warrant: Police arrested Douglas Dean, 52, of 6729 Carriage Lane, Canfield, on a warrant in an Austintown littering charge.

Theft: Police arrested Steven H. Latimer, no address listed, in theft from an auto in the 1000 block of Westminster Avenue.
