Child-sex contact

WARREN

Harold Deraud, 75, of Elizabeth Street, Hubbard, has been sentenced to two years in prison for having sexual contact with children age 8 and 10 between 2006 and 2008.

Judge W. Wyatt McKay of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court sentenced Deraud to prison last week after he earlier pleaded guilty to two counts of gross sexual imposition.

Retirement planned

Jan Bolchak, city safety director, will retire officially March 31 from the position she has held since June 2008. But, she said, she would stay longer if necessary to ease the transition of the new director.

Mayor Rick Keenan is looking at r sum s and interviewing applicants for the part-time position. The application process is closed. The mayor appoints the safety director, who makes up the board of control with the mayor and service director.

Previously, Bolchalk worked 15 years as director of Interfaith Home Maintenance in Youngstown. She has worked with various nonprofit organizations in her career.

Town-hall meeting

BOARDMAN

The Mahoning County Probate Court will conduct a town-hall meeting at 7 p.m. April 13 in the Boardman Rotary Room of Boardman Township Park’s Lariccia Family Community Center.

The purpose of the meeting is to educate the public about the probate court and its functions concerning adoptions, guardianships and estates.

Buhl cleanup day

HERMITAGE, Pa.

Buhl Farm Park will have its annual cleanup day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 10.

Volunteers should bring gloves and a rake. Registration will be at the pool house. Refreshments will be served.
