Links chapter will sponsor women's health fair April 17


YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown Chapter of The Links Inc. will again sponsor a “300 Sisters in Red,” health fair. This year’s event will be from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 17 at Kilcawley Center on the campus of Youngstown State University.

The focus of the fair is to support the campaign for Women’s Heart Health Awareness by presenting information on such things as heart disease, diabetes and breast cancer.

Featured will be the following:

Free health screenings from 8 to 10 a.m.: Total, HDL, LDL cholesterol and blood sugar (appointment and 12-hour fast required). blood pressure, body fat, bone density, heart health assessment, stroke risk assessment and colon cancer screening. Also available will be massages, interactive fitness, refreshments and informational displays.

Speakers from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Dr, Fareedah Z. Goodwin, who will speak on “Diabetes: How it Relates to Heart Disease;” and Dr. Dara P. Richardson-Heron, speaking on “Breast Cancer: What Women Need to Know.”

Lunch will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
