Born: March 25, 1910, in Youngstown to Dominic and Philomena Lucarell.

Siblings: 6 brothers, 3 sisters.

Married: Carmel Fiordellise in 1941. She is deceased.

Children: Phyllis (Anthony) Cafaro of Vienna, Donald (Jane) Lucarell of Kinsman, Robert (Cheryl) Lucarell of Hubbard, and William (Jackie) Lucarell of Girard.

Extended family: 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.

Education: He graduated from Rayen High School and attended Ohio State University on a scholarship. He later earned an engineering degree at Youngstown State University.

Biography: While working as a tester at Westinghouse Electric Transformer Plant in Sharon, Pa., in 1948, he was knocked unconscious by a high-voltage power line. Although badly burned, he was resuscitated by a co-worker. He spent six months in the hospital where doctors amputated the fingers of his left hand and predicted that if he survived he would be in a vegetative state. He amazed them by beating the odds, and after recovering went back to work at the transformer plant.

Routine: He is very active and walks every day at Eastwood Mall.

Celebration: Lucarell and his family will celebrate his 100th birthday during a party on Easter Sunday.
