Author to give lecture on the Victorian novel

Author Elliot Engel will speak at 10:30 a.m. April 14 at W.D. Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave. NW, as part of the Trumbull Town Hall lecture series. His topic will be “Queen Victoria and the Victorian Novel.”

Engel lives in Raleigh, N.C., where he teaches at North Carolina State University.

He has received North Carolina’s Adult Education award, and its Distinguished Outreach Professor award. His articles have appeared in numerous journals, including Newsweek.

Tickets are $25 ($5 for students). Special rates for groups of 10 or more are $15 per ticket.

After the lecture, a luncheon will be at Leo’s Restorante, 7042 E. Market St., Howland, for subscribers and friends. Luncheon tickets are $16 and require advance reservations; call (330) 373-1900.
