Tolich earns All-America honors in Boston

Austintown Fitch High’s Ali Tolich earned All-America honors last weekend while competing in the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Boston.

She took sixth in the 20-pound weight throw with a toss of 49-3, earning a spot on the podium and being named an All-American.

Tolich also competed in the shot put and took eighth with an effort of 39-1.25. She was just shy of making the podium in the event.

Her trip to the Nike meet was aided by support from Knightline Embroidery, Austintown Rotary, Fitch Track Booster Club and numerous individual supporters.

Next up for Tolich before the outdoor season begins, is a trip to the Indoor State Championships today. She is ranked No. 1 in the state in Division I in both events.
