A baby tyrannosaurus rex from the “Walking With Dinosaurs” show will be at Eastwood Mall’s center court at 4 p.m. Monday to greet children.

It is one of 17 life-size dinosaurs from the show, which comes to Covelli Centre in Youngstown for three shows May 4-5. Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster and the arena box office. Go to covellicentre.com for more information or to purchase.

In the show, the dinosaurs are animated and move about in a natural way. A paleontologist narrates the 90-minute show, taking the audience on an informative trip to the era of dinosaurs. “Walking With Dinosaurs” has been seen by more than 3.1 million people.

Safety upgrade

On Monday, Foust Construction Co. will start work on the Wood Street safety- upgrade project to replace curbing between Watson and Third Street. Traffic will be maintained.

Cemeteries cleanup

Due to recent weather conditions, all artificial flowers and decorations must be removed from graves, monuments and crypts by 7 a.m. Monday from Diocese of Youngstown cemeteries, including Calvary and Resurrection in Youngstown and All Souls in Canfield.

Food giveaway

Newton Falls Community Pantry gives food to anyone who qualifies according to income and lives in the ZIP code 44444. They normally give food to an average of 40 to 50 households monthly.

Alan Feinstein of Rhode Island has offered to split $1 million among pantries willing to raise money this month and April. The more that is raised during these months, the bigger the share Newton Falls will get.

Money, a pledge of money to be paid by the end of the year and food that is valued at $1 per pound or per piece count toward the grand total. Donations may be taken to the pantry at the Church Mouse, 26 1‚Ñ2 W. Broad St.

Tax abatements

Valley Electrical Consolidated Inc./Ferry Development, 977 Tibbetts Wick Road, is requesting real-estate tax abatements of 60 percent for 10 years on a new investment at 986 and 988 Tibbetts Wick Road. Rex Ferry owns the company.

The new investment would be between $500,000 to $600,000 for additions and new construction and between $25,000 and $75,000 for improvements to the building. The company bought a building there for $675,000. The tax-abatement request pertains only to the new investment.

The company has pledged to hire an additional 25 employees within three years after the completion of the project.

Liberty Township trustees will meet at 7 p.m. April 12 in the township building, 1315 Churc Hill-Hubbard Road, regarding the proposal. Trumbull County commissioners will meet about the proposal at 10 a.m. April 14.
